2021 Ford Explorer vs. 2021 Kia Telluride | Alpharetta GA

2021 Ford Explorer

vs 2021 Kia Telluride in Alpharetta, GA

Conquer the open road with the 2021 Ford Explorer at your command — and with seating for up to seven and 152.7 cubic feet of passenger volume, there’s plenty of room for everyone to come along, too. It’s the perfect daily driver with a taste for an adventure, so switching from weekday routines to the weekend getaway is no problem for the Explorer. Its standard power liftgate makes loading and unloading this SUV as accessible as pressing a button, while the available roof rack side rails can carry all of the gear you could want for a good time. Plus, when you know that the 2021 Ford Explorer qualified as an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ this year, peace of mind is a guaranteed passenger.

The Kia Telluride, on the other hand, is a fresh competitor of the Ford Explorer. Perhaps you’ve considered its capabilities and features over the Explorer in your search, so let’s see how these two models truly compare side by side.

Between us, we thought this would be a better fight. But then again, the Kia Telluride has only two model years of experience compared to the Explorer’s 30+ years. Sporting an available hybrid engine and a standard 10-speed automatic, this smooth-shifting SUV has the efficient capabilities you want in a bulkier body style. Plus, convenience features are generous with the Explorer while the Telluride lacks them altogether. Only the Explorer has a tri-zone electric automatic temperature control system (the Telluride only offers a dual-zone system), available power-folding third-row seats and a hands-free, foot-activated power liftgate. The third-row in the Telluride has manual access, and if you have full hands, you’ll have to fumble through your belongings to find the button to press the Telluride’s power liftgate. Not exactly ideal.
